Ever since Today Show icon Hoda Kotb left, Jenna Hagar Bush has had A-list celebs co-host with her on Today with Jenna & Friends, but fans are rooting for one special personality to replace the legend.

Morning Joe’s Willie Geist joined Bush for a lively conversation earlier this week, the pair joking about Geist’s beer pong skills. Viewers caught onto their natural chemistry, begging producers for Geist to be Hoda’s successor.

Today’s official Instagram posted a video of Geist chatting with Savannah Guthrie and hanging out on set for a morning segment. The broadcast journalist was met with a comment section full of love for him.

“Willie Geist is maybe one of the VERY FEW people you CANNOT hate. He can fit in anywhere. Rare gift,” one user mused. A second said: “Willie is The Best! He is so smart, very funny, genuinely kind … he can do it all !! A perfect fit with the Today Team.” Another echoed the petition that Geist should permanently be on the show: “Willie Geist should be the host. Period.”

“Since you brought up Beer Pong, I’ll throw in Quarters. Always fun,” Geist said to Bush during his segment with her. Bush challenged Geist to show off his skills and delivered in one try.

Also shared with fans on Bush’s show’s Instagram, watchers noticed how comfortable Bush was with Geist. One account said: “The PERFECT co-host for Jenna @jennabhager ! She is so much calmer with Willie @williegeist next to her, more likeable. They both perfectly complement each other.”

Another added: “Willie balances Jenna’s energy, which we love!, with some balance and calm. Please, please, please, pick Willie, and soon!” A third said: “The day Hoda announced she was leaving, I instantly thought of Willie. He’s the obvious choice.”

When Hoda announced her retirement from the show, the episode caused a tearful reaction from the former First Daughter. Bush began crying while Hoda told her how much she loved her. However, the two women have still remained close as they’ve been seen catching up at big events. Still, Bush has not mentioned her plans for her Jenna & Friends co-host. Meanwhile, Craig Melvin took Hoda’s spot with Gurthrie.
