Steve Guttenberg shared an anecdote about the time he and Caitlyn Jenner were asked to stuff their pants.
The actor, who rose to fame in the 80s with films including Diner (1982), Police Academy (1984), Cocoon (1985) and Three Men And A Baby (1987), spoke with Page Six and revealed the tidbit during his time filming Can’t Stop the Music with the Olympic gold medalist.
“I did wear really skimpy shorts,” he told the outlet and further added that the film’s producer, Allan Carr, asked him and Caitlyn to “stuff our shorts with socks to make it look a little bigger.”
“We didn’t need it by the way. I mean I told Alan, ‘No need for a sock!’” Steven said in jest.

Can’t Stop the Music was a 1980 music comedy directed by Nancy Walker and co-written by Allan and Bronté Woodard. It is a fictional biography of the 1970s disco group the Village People and is loosely based on the true story of its formation. The film also starred Valerie Perrine, Paul Sand, Tammy Grimes, June Havoc, Barbara Rush, Altovise Davis, Marilyn Sokol, and The Ritchie Family.
During its time, the film received bad reviews from critics and bombed at the box office. The film made $2 million against a reported budget of $13.5 million to $20 million. The film, along with Xanadu, was the reason for the creation of the Razzies. Razzies co-founder John J.B. Wilson told Time in 2009 that he was trying to host an Oscars party, and he made a cardboard podium, inviting people to nominate the worst films. Can’t Stop the Music won the first Razzies for Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay.

Can’t Stop the Music was Caitlyn’s first film debut. She played Ron White, a lawyer from St. Louis who gets involved with the Village People. Steven portrayed Jack Morell, a songwriter who was a reference to Village People creator and French singer and record producer Jacques Morali. Alan told The New York Times in 1979 that Caitlyn was “going to become the Robert Redford of the 80s, and this film.”
Caitlyn did act a few times following Can’t Stop the Music. The 75-year-old’s acting credits include TV and film appearances in King of the Hill, Adam Sandler’s Jack and Jill, The Hangover Games, and Transparent. Caitlyn came out as a transgender woman in 2015.
