Brenkus’ family released a heartbreaking tribute to the sports guru who hosted the Emmy-winning Sport Science show.

A statement released by his family read: “It is with profound sadness that we share the news that John Brenkus has passed away.

“John, co-founder of Base Productions, Founder of Brinx.TV, and co-creator and host of the six-time Emmy award-winning Sport Science had been battling depression.”

John hosted professional athletes on his show Sports Science to show how far they can test human limits.

The program also occasionally pitted Brenkus himself to showcase what sets these athletes apart from regular fans.

Fans from across the world of sports paid their heartfelt tributes to John shortly after his d3ath was confirmed on social media.

John was struggling with depression and had opened up about his journey during a 2023 interview.

He told Wiley: “I fell into a very deep depression. I spiralled into a deep, deep depression, and I was flat-out suicidal.”

The sports guru revealed he sought help from multiple psychologists and psychiatrists.
