He was joined in the studio by one of Hollywood’s hottest leading ladies, so no wonder Craig Melvin came across a little flustered when the latest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover star visited the Today show studio.

Craig, who replaced Hoda Kotb on the Today show, gave Salma Hayek a very warm welcome when she came in on Wednesday. Craig and his co-host, Savannah Guthrie, unveiled Salma as one of the magazine’s 2025 cover girls, and she sat down with the presenters to share her excitement over landing her first-ever cover for them.

Salma, known for her famous curves as well as her acting credentials, was complaining how swimsuits never fit her correctly, and said the ones she wore in the shoot didn’t fit right either. However, Craig begged to differ, saying: “I saw the pictures and they fit just fine.”

Salma went on to say how she could not believe how she bagged the cover shot at the age of 58. The From Dusk Till Dawn star said: “I still can’t believe it,” she told them. “I remember when I was young and hot, I used to look at this magazine and I wanted to see who was the new gorgeous model, the new girl of the moment, and it never crossed my mind that it could be me.”

Despite Craig’s cheeky banter with Salma, there is no denying his devotion to his wife Lindsay Czarniak.

When it comes to Mother’s Day posts, Craig Melvin warmed the heart of the nation with his sweet dedication to his one leading lady.

The Today show host made sure he and his kids went all out to celebrate his wife on Mother’s Day.

Craig and Lindsay have two adorable kids Delano and Sybil together and they surprised her by creating their own ‘restaurant’ in the kitchen with a bespoke menu.

Craig captioned the shot: “The kids wanted to open a restaurant at the house to celebrate mommy. Not sure why Sybil insisted on mustaches but it was Mother’s Day so we played along. Here’s to the glue that keeps it all together. We love you @lindsaycz.”

Fans headed to his Instagram page to leave comments on the cute set-up. One said: “Saw you talking about this on the TODAY show this morning, what a great and fun idea!”

Fans could not get enough of seeing Craig in his off-duty role as he spent time with his kids. Just weeks ago Craig proved he was just like us mere mortals when it came to parenting as he returned to the Today show after his absence for spring break.

The 45-year-old TV host chose to put family first and spent spring break with his wife, Lindsay, and their two children, 11-year-old Delano and eight-year-old Sybil. Mike Tirico, 58, stepped into his co-hosting spot. It came after Savannah Guthrie, 53, made the shake-up announcement during an episode of the show on Thursday, April 10.
