Trisha Goddard has announced she had “something to celebrate” following her most recent scan results as she continues to live with cancer. The television presenter was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, but she went on to receive the all-clear.

However, in 2024, the star disclosed that she had been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer, which is also referred to as metastatic or stage four breast cancer. She later gave an interview to Hello! magazine, saying that it was “not going to go away”, reports Wales Online.

The former Celebrity Big Brother participant underwent a brain scan shortly before welcoming in the New Year and has now shared the outcome in a health update posted to Instagram. Sharing photographs taken at the hospital, Trisha informed her followers: “No better way to see out 2025 than by having a brain scan, eh?”

“MRI and CAT scans are a regular part of my treatment for metastatic breast cancer. Along with non-stop blood tests, it’s how my oncology team keep keeps tabs on all those little f***er cancer cells they’re constantly playing ‘Whack-A-Mole’ with! Depending on results, my treatments and medications are constantly changed to outwit them.”

She went on: “Thank heavens, I got my results about an hour after my scan via a special app on my phone because I can’t imagine having to go into the New Year full of angst waiting for them… and my heart goes out to all of you who are currently having to go through that.”

Trisha’s health update came just a few days after her 68th birthday on December 23. The star marked the day by telling her followers on Instagram: “When you first hear those words, ‘Your cancer has come back,’ and every time you look at the news, your eye seems to be drawn to the words CANCER and TERMINAL, you think that’s it.”

She went on: “But scientists and the medical world have re-classified metastatic cancer to being a LIFE LIMITING illness, for good reason; New drugs, new treatments, new medical breakthroughs.”
