BIG NETWORK BREAK-UP NBC News And MSNBC END Partnership And One Today Show FAVORITE Will OFFICIALLY Be MOVING To A NEW PLATFORM

Jacob Soboroff is expected to land at MSNBC
The Today Show’s parent company is undergoing a big shuffle, meaning a fan-favorite host could be leaving.
MSNBC and NBC News are going their separate ways, meaning journalists will be split between the two networks, according to Politico. This isn’t the first major change Today has seen, with Hoda Kotb departure from the show last year.
Jenna Bush Hager has seen a rotating group of celebrity guests in Kotb’s place, including fellow anchor Savannah Guthrie. Her co-hosts from this past week were comedian Tiffany Haddish, E! News host Justin Sylvester, and Andy Cohen, who fans said should stay as permanent host.
Several well known faces will be taken to either MSNBC or NBC News. Today Show’s Jacob Soboroff, the NBC News Political and National Correspondent, is “expected to land at MSNBC,” the Politico report said.
Soboroff has yet to comment on the speculation. The U.S. Sun reported he is “well liked” by MSNBC executive Rebecca Kutler.

There are a few journalists that both MSNBC and NBC News want to keep. Willie Geist, co-host of Morning Joe and Today Show on Sundays, is the rare exception to appear on both networks.
Eleven channels are leaving NBC News, including MSNBC, CNBC, USA, E! and Syfy. The Today Show will remain with NBC News.
Still located in the 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, the new network will be moving from the 51st floor to the 6th floor. Politico reported everyone is expecting layoffs at both networks.

This comes after MSNBC’s ratings tanked by 57% following the 2024 presidential election. While viewers have returned, sometimes beating the ratings of biggest rival CNN, the decision has still been made to make the split.
The primary driver behind the decision, however, was the decline of cable television.
Soboroff is an award-winning journalist and author of the book ‘Separated: Inside an American Tragedy.’ The novel details the conditions of children living in custody of detention facilities at the US border under Don@ld TruM.
