
The One Show has been keeping the nation entertained since 2006.
There’s exciting news for fans of BBC’s The One Show as the beloved programme is reaching a major milestone this year.
To celebrate two decades of being on-air, with the chat show first launching back in August 2006, the programme is set to mark its 20th year in style.
Fronted by a string of presenters such as Roman Kemp, JB Gill, Clara Amfo and Alex Jones, who recently shared a family update, The One Show has become a staple of the nation’s evening viewing

Throughout the 30-minute programme, BBC viewers see the presenters speak about a range of topical issues, along with interviewing a mix of celebrities, including the likes of Tess Daly, Don Gilet, Kylie Minogue and Alan Carr.
From today (January 5) audiences will see The One Show prepare for its 20th birthday celebrations with subtle nods across the show, building towards special celebrations in August.
Speaking about the upcoming milestone, Alex McLeod, BBC Commissioning Editor said: “We are very excited to be sharing such an important anniversary with our audience and we hope that everyone across the UK will join us in celebrating.
“It will be a chance to look back over some of our most amazing moments and to look forward to making many more.”
To reflect on The One Show’s legacy over the years, BBC viewers can expect to see unique films as the show delves into the programme’s rich archive over the upcoming months.
Along with sharing updates on the One Show Challenge Squad, they’ll be revisiting some of the most memorable moments that have happened since 2006.
BBC viewers can also expect to see the show revisit some of the individuals and communities who have had their lives changed, championed and celebrated over two decades.

“As we head towards this incredible milestone, we’re excited to celebrate the programme’s rich history, the people behind it, and most importantly, the audiences who have made The One Show what it is today.
“We can’t wait to mark the anniversary in August and to share some very special moments along the way.”
Further details of the 20th anniversary celebrations will be announced later in the year.
