It Wasn’t A Storyline Twist What Made Amy Walsh PANIC About Her Emmerdale Job It Was Something MUCH MORE PERSONAL
Emmerdale star Amy Walsh has explained why she feared she was leaving the soap as Tracy Robinson.

Earlier this year, Tracy stole from her boss Eric Pollard’s business, pocketing cash while working her shifts at the shop.
Speaking on ITV’s Off Script podcast, Walsh opened up about the theft storyline, saying she thought her character would end up in prison after Tracy’s sister Vanessa drunkenly ratted her out to Eric.
Asked if she was worried about the repercussions for Tracy, Walsh said she thought her character would get the axe.

“So, I got called up for a meeting about a new storyline with the producer Sophie Roper,” Walsh said, adding that Roper filled her in on the exact nature of the storyline, which would see Tracy face “financial difficulty”.
Walsh said: “I was like, ‘OK’. I was like, ‘And then I go to prison, and is that my exit?’”
After questioning Roper again about whether her character was leaving the soap, Walsh said that the producer reassured her, saying: “You’re not going.”
According to Walsh, she was nearly in tears after the interaction, having feared the worst. “I nearly cried,” she told hosts Kelvin and Liz Fletcher.

On filming the scenes where Eric found out about the stolen money, Walsh said: “It was a struggle sometimes, the scenes.”
Discussing what it felt like to rehearse the scenes with Chris Chittell, who plays Eric, Walsh said she was “bawling” and had to give Chris a hug at the end of each day.
“I just feel really lucky to get to be still doing scenes with him,” she continued. “And I didn’t go to prison, so I’ve still got a job.”
“It’s really heartbreaking that she did what she did to him,” Walsh added.
