Savannah Guthrie threw her Today co-anchors off with her latest introduction to Jenna Bush Hager.

The hosts of the beloved NBC talk show believed they would be temporarily saying goodbye to Jenna after Savannah, who made a three-word response over Hoda Kotb’s exit, made a quirky introduction to her co-host during the first hour.

During the June 9 episode, the 53-year-old journalist started off teasing Jenna’s Morning Boost segment by saying: “Jenna’s got a little something in the oven for the Boost.” Before the camera could even switch to the co-anchor, Carson Daly, who also hosts The Voice, responded: “Wait, what?”

Once the screen switched to Jenna, who was talking about two viral clips she planned to show, there was still commotion coming from the other hosts who were contemplating what Savannah had meant by “something in the oven.”

Savannah tried to get her co-anchors to quiet down as she was heard saying: “Stop that! Stop that!”

It was no use as the questions started rolling in from the three men.

Al Roker asked: “Did you say Jenna’s pregnant?”

Daly followed by directing the questions toward Jenna, questioning: “Are you making an announcement?”

Before she could respond, one had said: “I’m so excited for you!”

Jenna had shortly reacted by shaking her head, clarifying: “You guys, I understood what she said.”

The 43-year-old anchor is already a mother of three daughters: Mila, Poppy and Hal. She shares them all with her husband Henry Hager.

Savannah recently asked her co-host if there was a possibility of her having a fourth to the happy family.

Jenna quickly responded no as she said: “I’m pretty sure I’ve come to terms that three, even though it’s an imperfect number, is the perfect number for our house.”

Savannah then mentioned that she wouldn’t mind having another, adding to the two she already has.

She stated: “It’s very normal. I think they call it ‘being broody.’ You’re kind of broody for a third or a fourth. I would have had a third in a heartbeat, but, you know, I was up against the clock.”

Jenna was the last to take maternity leave on the Today show. She returned in November 2019, just two months after Hoda Kotb had returned from her own maternity leave.

The host has been on the morning show since August of 2009. She hosts the fourth hour of the Today show with her segment Today with Jenna & Friends.
