Emmerdale will welcome a legendary music star and actor to the ITV soap later this year.

Bosses have confirmed Aussie fave Jason Donovan will make a cameo appearance in Emmerdale. The star, 57, who made his name in soap Neighbours, has already filmed his scenes in Leeds.
When he appeared, Jason performed one of his classic hits to a packed out Woolpack pub set as a surprise for Lydia Dingle – played by Karen Blick. Jason Donovan said: “I’m incredibly excited to have been asked to make a cameo appearance in Emmerdale as myself.
“Filming was great fun and all of the cast and crew were extremely welcoming. Singing in the Woolpack set was definitely an experience I won’t forget.”
Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw added: “We were delighted that Jason agreed to join us for this episode. Not only is Lydia Dingle a big fan of his, there was a real buzz on set that day.

“I hope the viewers enjoy his cameo as much as the Emmerdale family did.” Down the years, Emmerdale has welcomed a number of guest appearances.
These have included Leeds United legend Chris Kamara, singing stars Katherine Jenkins and Marti Pellow among others.

A former Emmerdale star has bagged an exciting new role.
Acting talent Daniel Coll is returning to the stage in Fishlake. Well-known to television audiences for his role as DI Blackmore in Emmerdale, and with appearances in Coronation Street, Billy Elliot – The Musical, Les Misérables, and Braveheart, Daniel’s return to live performance coincides with a busy year of filming, writing and producing projects through his company Picture Point Films based in Sheffield.
Daniel has recently returned from Ukraine and has finished two documentaries. Fishlake is written by Jeremy Fletcher, a Fishlake resident whose own home was impacted by the 2019 floods.
“It offers a deeply personal account of what happened when the River Don broke its banks and nearly an entire village was submerged. The production blends verbatim testimony, music, movement and narrative drama – drawing on the real voices of villagers, performed alongside a community choir and professional cast.
“I’m honoured to play the role of David in this production,” Daniel said. “This story is about people who lost their homes but found each other – and I felt compelled to be part of that. It’s about resilience, community, and spirit with bags of humour.”
You can see Daniel Coll in Fishlake at Rotherham Civic Theatre on Tuesday, October 28 and Wakefield Theatre Royal Wakefield on Thursday, October 30. You can find out more here.
