FormerΒ NFLΒ player and analyst Ryan Clark refused to letΒ Monday Night FootballΒ go off without mentioning the former LSU standout player and the evidence that would’ve cleared his name.

During his appearance on ESPN’s SportsCenter after the Monday Night Football game between theΒ Kansas City ChiefsΒ andΒ Jacksonville Jaguars, Clark took some time to update the country, which may not have seen the new evidence.

β€œKyren Lacy was supposed to be in the NFL. Kyren Lacy was accused of something and being investigated for something that he didn’t do, and he died having to live with the guilt and the consequences of a guilty man, knowing he was innocent,” Ryan Clark said.

β€œIt recently was discovered that he was 72 yards away from the crash, that police and state policemen tried to coerce, and doctor, and use ways to manipulate statements that put this young man behind bars.

β€œThey changed his joy, they changed his life, and eventually, he took his own life. This was supposed to be a career, but at least he was supposed to be here. At some point throughout his career, I would expect to have said his name, so I’m gonna say his name tonight.”

Clark continued, β€œKyren Lacy was innocent. Kyren Lacy should be here with us. Nothing will ever repair or replace the pain that their parents β€” that his parents have to feel, and his loved ones have to feel. But we can say his name. There were so many stations that ran the fact that he was being investigated. So I wanted to make sure here with Scott, we could say that he was an innocent man, and at least know that he has that as he rests.”

Lacy was found dead from an apparent suicideΒ earlier this year.

Ryan Clark posted a heartfelt message on social media at the time,Β saying,Β β€œIt’s sad. It’s tragic, in some ways. It’s unfathomable.”

What The New Evidence Says About Kyren Lacy

Lacy was accused of causing a deadly vehicle crash last year, but newly released video of the crash shows he was 72 yards behind the vehicles that collided.

TheΒ new video showed Lacy behind the vehicles that crashed in December 2024, not weaving in front of them as was initially believed. It painted a much different picture than what investigators initially told the public about the wreck.

Lacy’s attorney, Matthew Ory, who previously said at his funeral he would clear his name, said Kyren Lacy was approximately 72 yards behind the crash that killed Herman Hall.

Despite the lies at the time, Lacy was booked on charges of hit-and-run driving with serious injury or death, reckless operation with accident, and negligent homicide.

He was innocent the entire time.

Months later, in April 2025,Β Lacy died by an apparent suicide following another incidentΒ where he allegedly shot into the ground during a domestic dispute and fled from cops. This was two days before a scheduled grand jury hearing related to the December 2024 crash.
