FORMER Love Island winner Dani Dyer can be seen gasping for breathe during a deep water dive on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The previously-injured Strictly star can be seen clambering to escape the H2O hell and fighting for air during the terrifying challenge.

Dani admits: “I’m really scared,” before submerging herself into the deep dark water and towards the bottom of the decrepit sunken vessel.

However, the panicked star then cuts the challenge prematurely and gasps for air as she scrambles to find her way out of the shipwreck.

Dani states: “I’m sorry.”

“Did someone just come out already?” asks fellow competitor, Neighbours actress Natalie Bassingthwaighte, as she looks on.

Dubbed the most brutal series in history, the famous faces have been pushed to their absolute physical and mental breaking points in the scorching heat of North Africa.

In a massive shake-up, the Channel 4 show introduced an explosive Ashes-style twist, pitting 14 Brits against Australians for the very first time.

Despite Dani’s battle underwater, the Love Island alumni has gained praise from the experts who dubbed her ‘far tougher’ than expected.

Viewers were left stunned in the opening episode as Dani shrugged off a bloody nose during a vicious boxing match with Aussie Married At First Sight star Jessika Power.

Chief instructor Mark “Billy” Billingham commended the reality star and said: “Little Dani Dyer surprised me.

“Very small girl. She was very timid at the start, lacked a lot of confidence and didn’t really believe in herself.

“She was willing to give up, but found a second wind with support from myself, Chris Oliver, Rudy Reyes and Foxy (Jason Fox).

“She never believed she could do it but she could.”

Dani previously revealed her secret weapon during her preparations for the SAS show was her West Ham footballer husband Jarrod Bowen.

The reality star said he helped get her into tip-top shape with hardcore fitness tips including training in potato fields and running up and down in freezing weather conditions.

Alongside her is fellow Love Island star Gabby Allen – who also impressed the coaches.

Australian cricket legend Brad Hodge said Gabby surprised the camp with her strength.

He explained: “She was an amazing, strong, a great leader. I didn’t expect that of her when I first saw her. I think it was a big turnaround.

“I knew she was an athletic instructor, knew she’d be physically fit, but her leadership was outstanding, something that I would have expected from a sports person.

“In times of adversity, she shone through.”

Other celebrities taking on the TV challenge include YouTubers Jack Joseph and Cole Anderson-James, rugby ace Ben Cohen, cricketer Graeme Swann and Aussie Olympic swimmer Emily Seebohm.
