BBC licence payers slammed one “poor quality” radio show, accusing it of spreading misinformation.
BBC fans were left raging at the broadcaster for one of its “biased” radio shows, and some are even questioning their licence fee payment. On Reddit, one social media user complained about the “incoherent ramblings” on host Nick Campbell’s radio show phone-in, fuming: “Genuinely shocked by the poor quality of it.
“Pub bores phoning in and literally being incontinent with incoherent ramblings. Campbell never correcting them, and says ‘interesting call’. Most callers citing whatever misinformation and half understood information from social media.”
They added: “This coupled with the poor work of Laura Kuenssberg and her fellow social media journalists makes me even question paying my licence now.”
Other fans were in agreement, with one writing: “Who else is going to phone in to give their political opinions during the working day, but a pub bore with too much time on their hands? Agree there could be much more fact checking on these things though.
“Have some of the key conspiracy theories doing the rounds to hand so they can be corrected in real time, do some background research on the rest and come back 20 minutes later. Otherwise you’re just amplifying them.”
Somebody else said: “It’s the false equivalence of it. Former employees of NATO being asked to follow up a pub nutter who has just spewed whatever the X feed has that day.”

Other listeners rushed to defend Campbell (Image: BBC)
Others disagreed, however, with one writing: “I listen most mornings on the drive to and from my kids’ nursery and I agree there’s some absolute drivel callers. I do think Campbell does a fairly good job. He only finds out the content each morning and doesn’t have a tonne of prep.
“He’s also not there to debate the callers like LBC or another opinion radio, he’s basically there to host.”
Someone else posted: “Campbell’s not there to ‘correct’ callers on their opinions.”
