A Place in the Sun’s Ben Hillman was left stunned when a couple threw a “bombshell” during their property search on the Channel 4 show. In a previous episode, Ben was helping Paul and Lizzie on their hunt to find a perfect property. The pair, who have five children and ten grandchildren, were drawn to the sunny beauty of Cyprus where they had previously enjoyed vacations. They began their search energetically, with the first property immediately impressing them.
This chic townhouse offered two bedrooms and the luxury of two communal pools. Priced at an affordable £110,256, it fell well within their £150k budget. Ben appeared pleased when Lizzie confessed they “loved it all”, following the second property viewing, according to Express. His optimism carried him into the showing of the third house in Argaka which further thrilled the eager home seekers. He expressed his enthusiasm saying, “This is just going from better, to better, to better.”

Light-heartedly teasing Lizzie for her silence of awe, Ben said, “And this is the first time I’ve seen Lizzie that speechless. Onwards and upwards.”
Following a full inspection of the property, Lizzie couldn’t contain her excitement, exclaiming: “I’m sold.”
This positive mood prevailed into the viewing of the fourth house, providing them with an array of attractive options ahead of their final decision.
The roomy maisonette, boasting three bedrooms and a communal swimming pool, was a standout contender. Paul and Lizzie were instantly taken with the expansive living area and kitchen, both exuding a “nice feel”.
During their tour of the main bedroom, Paul inadvertently dropped a bombshell about their house search, remarking, “Yes, we’re down to two again now.”
This left the show’s host gobsmacked as he exclaimed, “What? When did you come up with that? When did that happen?”
Paul clarified that they had dismissed the first three properties and were now deliberating between the final two, leading Ben to jest, “What a bombshell.”
The fifth property struck a chord, prompting Paul and Lizzie to make an offer. They were ecstatic when their second bid of £121,000 was accepted by the seller.
As the purchase was confirmed, social media was abuzz with viewers expressing their delight, all in chorus. One fan commented, “Such a lovely couple. Got a beautiful townhouse for a steal.”
Another chimed in with, “Lovely couple. Congratulations.”
A third shared, “Happy for them. They seem nice,” a sentiment that was heartily seconded by another: “Pleased for this couple, they deserve it.”
