Ruth Langsford has shared her worries about intimacy with a potential new partner, following her separation from husband and former This Morning co-star Eamonn Holmes. The television presenter, 65, made a heartbreaking confession during Monday’s instalment of Loose Women.

The panel explored whether physical intimacy became more challenging in a person’s later years, as Ruth acknowledged that the prospect of undressing before someone new felt daunting, while confiding in her fellow panellists, Kelly Brook, Nadia Sawalha and Jane Moore. Nadia, 61, confessed that she would require the bedroom lights switched off before even thinking about getting down and dirty with a new partner. Ruth then chimed in, sharing her own vulnerabilities, stating: “I don’t think I’m a lights off girl, but I would certainly be anxious about a new partner and intimacy.” She added: “Like being naked… I wouldn’t just be like taking it all off.”

The divorced TV presenter is understood to have remained single following her widely reported separation from husband Eamonn, 66, after 27 years as a couple and 14 years of marriage.

Meanwhile, Eamonn wasted little time before moving on to a new relationship. He reportedly struck up a romantic relationship with counsellor Katie Alexander, 44, who is 22 years younger than him.

However, it does seem that things are beyond repair with Ruth and Eamonn, as she recently reportedly said that she “won’t forgive him”. 

It has been alleged that the GB News host failed to contact their son, Jack, over Christmas, as he enjoyed spending the festive season with his new love, Katie.

A source told Bella Magazine: “She says the least Eamonn could have done was to reach out and wish him good tidings and keep the door open. She won’t forgive him.”

The magazine also claims Eamonn gave his older children; son Niall and daughter Rebecca, whom he shares with his former wife Gabrielle, “the cold shoulder” over Christmas.

Ruth has also spoken openly about turning to therapy in the aftermath of her painful split.

“I started counselling when Eamonn and I separated, and I’m still having it. It is very powerful and very useful. It gives me tools to deal with things,” she candidly told Woman and Home.
