Deontay Wilder Storms Out of talkSPORT Studio as Security Forced to Step In

The former WBC champion was furious as he left the interview early.

Deontay Wilder was furious with talkSPORT’s Simon Jordan and stormed out of an interview ahead of his return to the boxing ring.

Nearly a year after his latest fight and eight years after the first of his iconic trilogy of fights with Tyson Fury, Wilder is set to return to the ring in April.

The 40-year-old is set to face fellow heavyweight veteran Derek Chisora in the main event of massive London card taking place at the O2 live on DAZN.

Ahead of the fight, both Wilder and Chisora sat down with talkSPORT to promote the bout, but it didn’t take long for things to escalate.

After Jordan mentioned former foe Fury, the American completely lost his head, making it known he didn’t want to talk about his fellow ex-champion.

“I don’t want to talk about him,” Wilder snapped as soon as Jordan mentioned Fury’s name.

“We’re here about Derek Chisora, we are not going to talk about him at all, understand that.”

However, Jordan, 58, refused to back down and begin questioning the Bronze Bomber about his previous claims that Fury had cheated during their second and third meetings, both of which were won by the Englishman.

Wilder responded by calling Fury the biggest cheat in boxing, reiterating his past claims that Fury had taken some of the padding out of his boxing gloves ahead of their fight.

Jordan continued to list some of the other excuses that Wilder has made since losing to Fury, all of which the boxer claimed were facts, before telling the former WBC champion that he felt that he was being ‘flaky’ and that this attitude to the losses was disappointing.

Infuriated by the claim, Wilder yelled: “You can say what you want, I know the truth, I have the facts.”

Wilder then decided he’d had enough as he stood up to leave the interview, shouting: “I don’t give a f*** about that! I said we didn’t want to bring him up in the first place, it ain’t got s*** to do with him.”

Security were then forced to step in as Wilder decided to leave the building.

Shortly before the incident occurred, Chisora, who is friends with Fury, arrived to the interview with cardboard cut-out of his countryman in an attempt to further rile Wilder up.

Teasing him opponent, 42-year-old joked: “Come and take a selfie”

Wilder then replied: “I’m going to put my nuts on his bald head.”

The incident comes just one day after Fury appeared to respond to Wilder’s cheating claims while addressing his own losses to current heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

“You don’t hear me crying and moaning about it, saying someone cheated,” Fury said on Instagram.

“That’s not me. There’s no point crying over spilt milk.”
