Cat Deeley has been replaced by Irish presenter Angela Scanlon over the past two days, leaving viewers wondering where she is.

However, many also believe Angela, who competed on Strictly in 2023, could make a brilliant replacement on a permanent basis…

Why is Cat Deeley not on This Morning today?

Since Tuesday (February 24), Cat has been absent from presenting This Morning alongside regular co-host Ben Shephard.

Ben didn’t specify where Cat was. However, he shared a statement implying she would be away for a couple of days, telling people at home that Angela would be his “play date”.

The day before, he took to the show’s Instagram Story, declaring that “Deeley’s done a runner” after Monday’s episode, before revealing which guests were going to be on the show.

With Cat being away for two days, fans of This Morning have grown to enjoy Angela. So much so that they think she should step in permanently.

‘Petition to replace Cat’

“Two Questions…where is Cat, and can we keep Angela forever?” one user wrote on X.

“I’m liking Angela Scanlon so much better and more natural than Cat!” another person declared.

“Can we please replace Cat Deeley with Angela Scanlon? Or replace Alison Hammond with Angela Scanlon? Or preferably, replace Cat Deeley AND Alison Hammond with Angela Scanlon,” a third shared.

“Angela Scanlon is brilliant on #ThisMorning. What a superb addition to the This Morning team of presenters. Great vision by the production team on the show to bring Angela on board,” a fourth remarked.

‘So unnatural’

However, like Marmite, not everyone is a fan of Angela as a presenter for the show.

“When I see Angela, she just morphs into a Catherine Tate Character. I can’t take her seriously,” one said.

“How far *down* the list of replacements was Angela Scanlon?” another asked.

“How the [bleep] does Angela Scanlon get these TV gigs? Awful presenter, complete try hard and so unnatural,” a third insisted.

“Angela’s going a bit overboard with her “concerned face” look,” a fourth said.
