Strictly Come Dancing’s Amber Davies was moved to tears by partner Nikita Kuzmin’s surprise video ahead of the semi-finals

In the lead-up to the Strictly Come Dancing semi-finals, Nikita Kuzmin gave Amber Davies an emotional surprise by showing her footage of their debut performance together on the programme. Amber had mere hours to get ready for the opening show after being called upon at the eleventh hour when Dani Dyer had to pull out of the contest.

In footage shared on Instagram, Amber was visibly moved to tears whilst watching their inaugural dance, a Waltz. She told Nikita: “I can’t even talk. We like barely knew each other.|

We just scraped for everything, we tried the last minute dress, tried everything,” he replied, reports Wales Online.

Amber continued: “I was like shaking as well from head to toe wasn’t I? I remember just thinking, look into his eyes, look into his eyes.You made your eyes a comfort place for me. It’s such a simple routine.”

Nikita laughed: “In comparison to everything we’ve done afterwards.”

The duo shared a light-hearted moment discussing Amber’s strong frame and their determination to complete the routine successfully.

“Now you’re my best friend in the world,” Amber told Nikita.

The professional dancer replied: “Out of my whole experience on this show. I have two special first dance moments.

“And it was my first ever dance I’ve ever done on the show. And this one. Cause this was just like crazy wasn’t it?”.

During the semi-final round, each partnership will take to the floor with two separate routines. Amber and Nikita’s repertoire includes a Couple’s Choice set to Fly Me to the Moon by RAYE, followed by a Tango performed to Higher by Michael Buble.

Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon are set to perform a Waltz to At This Moment by Michael Buble, followed by a Salsa routine to Rhythm Is Gonna Get You/Get On Your Feet by Gloria Estefan.

George Clarke and Alexis Warr will be showcasing a Charleston to We No Speak Americano by Yolanda Be Cool, and a Samba to Volare by the Gipsy Kings.

Karen Carney and Carlos Gu will be dancing the Salsa to Turn The Beat Around by Vicki Sue Robinson, and a Waltz to One Moment In Time by Whitney Houston.
