Revealed: AngryGinge buys £420k mock-Tudor home after raking in £1.4m streaming from his bedroom
His Manchester-based estate agent Jamie Burke posted on Instagram to mark Burtwistle’s purchase, sharing an image of them shaking hands and handing over the keys in the influencer’s brand new kitchen
I’m A Celebrity winner AngryGinge has rewarded himself for a jaw-dropping rise to fame by snapping up his very first home for £420,000 — a luxury mock-Tudor newbuild in Greater Manchester.
The Salford-born star has amassed more than five million followers across all social media and is understood to have earned more than £1million in the last year alone – so that left him with plenty to play with when buying the property (pictured)
The Twitch star, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, completed the deal on the three-bedroom property in Tyldesley back in June last year, after amassing a staggering £1.4 million in career earnings before his 25th birthday.
The bright and modern house boasts a spacious kitchen-diner, two sleek bathrooms, generous front and back gardens, a covered patio, hot tub and a sweeping driveway — worlds away from the council estates he once called home.

And rather than draining his fortune, Burtwistle’s blockbuster 2025 has only made him richer. The influencer is understood to have earned £1.2 million in the past year alone, including a six-figure payday for his triumphant appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

The Salford-born star now commands more than five million followers across his social platforms, with lucrative brand partnerships from the likes of Puma and JD Sports rolling in.

To mark the purchase, Manchester-based estate agent Jamie Burke shared a photo of himself handing over the keys to Burtwistle in his brand-new kitchen, writing:
“New home day for @angryginge13. Thanks for buying through me and being patient & understanding throughout. It’s always a pleasure handing over the keys — even more so when it’s AngryGinge.”
But behind the success lies a story far removed from influencer luxury.
Burtwistle grew up on a council estate in Eccles, raised alongside his sister Tasha, 27, by their single mother Michelle, 50, after their father walked out. He told campmate Alex Scott during I’m A Celeb:
“We’ve got no problems getting our hands stuck in, because that’s what we’ve had to do from being little.”

He spoke movingly about watching his mother work relentlessly — finishing one job only to head straight to the next — just to keep food on the table.
At one point, struggling with finances, Burtwistle even offered to move out at 18 to live with his grandmother so Michelle could manage the bills. He later rented what he described as a “s*hole” flat** for £350 a month — no shower, mould on the walls and even a door without a handle — dubbing it a “pub” because fans couldn’t believe anyone actually lived there.
His mother previously told MailOnline:
“He saw me struggling as a single parent growing up and now he thinks it’s his time to make it up to me. He always says, ‘If there’s anything you need, just ask me.’”
Burtwistle’s journey into streaming began just five years ago when he joined Twitch in October 2020, inspired by fellow creator Castro1021. His first ever stream earned him a peak of 40 viewers — and just £12.44.
He almost quit after months of averaging six viewers, but returned full-time following the death of his grandfather from Covid in 2021, uploading content up to ten hours a day, Monday to Friday.
That relentless grind transformed him into one of Britain’s most successful digital stars — even allowing him to clear all of his mother’s debts after winning prize money from a streamed football tournament two years ago.
His meteoric rise comes despite a painful relationship with his estranged father, truck driver Lee Smith, who left the family when Burtwistle was young, forcing Michelle to juggle three jobs including work in a school kitchen, cleaning and a care home — earning just £12,500 a year.
Burtwistle has since spoken openly about court battles, broken windows, police visits and years of chaos, insisting that if he passed his father on the street today, he would simply walk past.
Yet through it all, he credits his mother as his anchor — the reason he pushed himself through the jungle to become the first social-media star ever crowned King of the Jungle.
After his win, he said:
“I wanted my mum to know how well she did raising us and how much I appreciate everything she did. If I can do anything to make her proud, that’s the best.”
Now, standing in his £420,000 dream home with a hot tub in the garden and a driveway of his own, AngryGinge’s story feels less like a streamer’s fairy tale — and more like a modern-day rags-to-riches legend.
