Just days after a blockbuster trade sent Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys fans found their team at the center of another controversy after Jalen Carter spat on quarterback Dak Prescott.

Seconds into the game on Thursday night, Prescott spat on the ground near the Eagles’ defensive huddle while Philadelphia fullback Ben VanSumeren was getting carted off the field.

Jalen Carter saw what he had done, walked up to Prescott, and spat on his chest. The referees saw this and promptly kicked him out of the game.

Six seconds had passed in the game, and Carter did not play a single defensive snap.

It wasn’t known at the time why he spat, but once the video was found, it would soon show that Dak Prescott spat in his general direction first.

Once fans saw that footage, they began to understand Jalen Carter’s behavior.

Thursday night’s game between the Cowboys and Eagles took a wild turn into spit-gate when Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter was ejected for spitting on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

Prescott could be seen spitting in the direction of the Eagles before that moment. He made it clear in his postgame press conference that he spits “a thousand times throughout the game.”

The Dallas Cowboys star QB said he “wasn’t going to spit on my lineman and I just spit ahead,” which led to Carter asking if Prescott was trying to spit on him.

Prescott said he found that question to be “insulting” because “I wouldn’t spit on somebody.”

“I actually said words like, ‘Why the hell would I’ — excuse me, but probably even more colorful — ‘what would I need to spit on you for?’ He just spit on me in that moment, it was more of a surprise than anything,” Prescott said.

As we saw, Carter did not care and spat on his chest.

Dak Prescott added he’s “pretty sure [Carter] knows that I didn’t try to spit on him or wasn’t even aiming to spit on him” and that he doesn’t “wish for anybody” to be kicked out of a game, especially one that is between two division rivals.

As soon as Carter was thrown out, the Cowboys would march down the field and score a touchdown. In fact, neither defense could really stop the other as traded scores in the first half.
