Meghan Markle has been blasted for including her children in a recent statement regarding an update for their Archewell organisation. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a statement on December 19, revealing that they were changing the name of their company from Archwell Foundation to Archewell Philanthropies.

The formerly-known Archewell Foundation was set up in 2020, just weeks after the couple stepped down as senior working royals and moved to the US. The statement read: “After five beautiful years, the Archewell Foundation is becoming Archewell Philanthropies.

“This charitable entity allows the couple and their children to expand upon their global philanthropic endeavours as a family.”

Meghan and Harry are proud parents to six-year-old Prince Archie, whom they welcomed in May 2019. The couple later welcomed Princess Lilibet in 2021, a year after their move from the UK to California.

A friend of Harry has shared that they believe that the inclusion of Archie and Lilibet in the recent statement was done due to Meghan’s “influence”, adding that they “can’t believe” that Harry was behind the statement.

According to the Daily Mail, they said: “I am genuinely confused.

“Harry and Meghan were always so insistent that their children would be able to make their own way in life without the pressure of expectations or titles.

“I can’t believe Harry is behind this. It must be Meghan’s influence.”

Since the statement was unveiled last month, the couple have also lost a more members of staff at Archewell.

The couple lost three staff members last month, including Kristen Slevin, who acted as Archewell’s director of programs and operations. Earlier this week, the couple also lost their 11th publicist, Meredith Maines. It has also announced that James Bolt had stepped down as their top advisor.
