JAKE PAUL has received an indefinite medical suspension after suffering a broken jaw against Anthony Joshua.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer was floored four times against AJ – bravely making it to his feet – before a final right hand ended the bout in round six.

It left him with a jaw shattered in two places and needing multiple titanium plates to fix the damage.

Consequently, the Florida Athletic Commission have placed Paul on an indefinite ban until a physician can clear him to fight again, MMA Fighting reports.

The American, 28, confirmed he will not retire from the sport and wants to fight again this year.

But following surgery on his jaw – which left him only able to eat liquids for a week – Paul is even struggling to sleep.

Paul told DAZN: “I got four plates in my jaw but that’s part of the sport. The healing process has been a little bit tough.

“I’m a little bit tired, it’s hard to sleep, I go onto the pillow and then my jaw twerks up to the left and I wake up so.

“It’s all part of the sport and it was an amazing night and I learned a lot, gained a lot of experience and we’re moving onto more fights this year.”

Paul – who is now 14-2 as a boxer – spent the Christmas period with his Dutch speedskater fiancee Jutta Leerdam while supporting her in the Winter Olympic qualifiers.

Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions paid tribute to Joshua’s two late friends Kevin Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami, who shockingly died in a car crash last week.

AJ was in the car but survived the horror smash in Nigeria – which came just weeks after his win against Paul in Miami.

Joshua, 36, returned to the UK for the funeral of personal trainer and childhood friend “Latz” and conditioning coach Sina.
