Deal or No Deal fans tuning into to ITV1 at 4pm today will likely be disappointed to discover that Stephen Mulhern and The Banker are nowhere to be seen.

It’s been off air for a week, after Stephen signed off his February 13 show by telling viewers he’d see them soon.

Many assumed – wrongly – that it would return the following Monday. Alas, we have some sad news for you…

Deal or No Deal replaced today

Deal or No Deal returned early in the New Year with a slew of brand-new episodes. Viewers were delighted, and assumed that Stephen was back for new series.

However, while Deal or No Deal has been commissioned for a third series, the episodes that have played out this year were actually from the tailend of the second season. And, as a result, ITV only had 30 left in the can, instead of the full 60.

Those 30 came to an end on February 13, so the ITV schedule has suffered a little bit of a shake-up…

Tipping Point replaces Stephen Mulhern on ITV

Fresh from his unmasking as Conkers on The Masked Singer, Ben Shephard is back with Tipping Point.

However, it’s not new Tipping Point. The episodes actually first aired back in 2024.

Stephen confirmed ‘it is coming back’

So when does Stephen Mulhern return, we hear you ask?

ITV has commissioned a third series. However, an insider told us that it’s too early to share when it’ll air. All we know is that it’ll be sometime “later this year”.

Posting last year, Stephen told fans: “Don’t worry: It is coming back! The Banker’s just gone off on holiday. Again. One of his cruises, I’d imagine, tormenting strangers over the buffet. I’ll let you know when the new series is about to start so you don’t miss a single dramatic moment!”

One happy fan shared: “Yay! I can’t wait for the new series – it has been fantastic so far! Thank you Stephen and everyone involved!” “Thank goodness for this. I just need to find out how to apply!” said another.

Sadly, applications are currently closed, but you can catch up on DOND on ITVX now.
