Conor McGregor has issued a challenge to Floyd Mayweather, demanding the American boxing legend face him in an MMA contest at the White House.

The 37-year-old Irish fighter reignited their long-standing rivalry through a post on X, sharing footage from their notorious 2017 press conference tour.

McGregor confidently declared he would dispatch the undefeated boxer in mere seconds inside the octagon.

“Floyd Mayweather, when you are ready for that promised MMA bout, I am here,” he wrote.

“The White House is nice in the summer I heard. Just kidding Mike! Although I could fight both the same night. Floyd MMA? EASY. 10 seconds.”

The pair previously met in the boxing ring nine years ago, with Mayweather, now 48, securing a tenth-round TKO victory at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada.

That crossover bout proved to be one of the most lucrative events in combat sports history, generating close to £450million in pay-per-view revenue.

The 2017 contest saw McGregor venture into Mayweather’s domain, competing under boxing rules against the sport’s most decorated champion.

Now the Irishman appears eager to reverse the arrangement, inviting his former opponent to compete under mixed martial arts regulations in the octagon.

The former two-division champion was scheduled to return to the octagon against Michael Chandler last year, but an injury forced him to withdraw from the bout.

Speculation continues to surround a potential matchup between McGregor and Chandler on UFC’s rumoured White House event, though no official confirmation has been made.

The reference to “Mike” in McGregor’s social media post is understood to be directed at Chandler, suggesting the Irishman remains confident about facing multiple opponents.
