Fans said that they were “robbed” after seeing the cut scene from Corriedale.

Fans of Coronation Street and Emmerdale were gutted to see one scene cut from Monday evening’s Corriedale. Actor Andy Whyment, best known for playing Corrie’s Kirk Sutherland, shared the unaired clip to his Instagram account.

It showed him meeting Emmerdale’s Sam Dingle, played by James Hooton. The two characters are known for being a bit dim so the meeting made for a very witty moment. They had both got lost while looking for loved ones in the hospital as they both stopped to look at a map. Kirk asked Sam: “Can you make head or tail of that? I can’t.” But the equally clueless Emmerdale character admitted he didn’t have a clue either. They chatted for a while and both said that they needed to find some people in A&E after the crash, as Sam said: “Aaron were in one of the cars, Charity in another and I think our Cain’s been shot again. So…” He shrugged his shoulders before Kirk exclaimed: “That’s a lot! Friends of yours?” But Sam explained that they were family before adding that they are “the Dingle clan.”

Kirk was tickled pink by the family’s surname. “Dingle? You’re called Dingle?” he asked before bursting out into a fit of laughter.

But Sam looked sad as he said: “There’s nowt funny about it,” prompting an apology from the Corrie character. “Anyway, I should get on, Peanut will be wanting her dinner,” Sam added.

He pointed down to his little sausage dog, who he had brought to the hospital with him. Sam leaned down to stroke the dog lovingly before he began to look worried, saying: “I’m not sure they’re allowed in here, you know.”

“Right. Yeah. Course,” Sam said. “It’s a good job I ran into you. Someone with smarts!” They both laughed before wishing each other well and parting ways.

Andy captioned the clip, as he explained: “Our scene never made CORRIEDALE but here it is Kirk and Sam. It was great to work with @hootonjames.”

Fans of the shows were gutted that they didn’t get to see the clip in the final cut. They shared their thoughts in the comments, with one complaining: “Brilliant, why wasn’t this aired? Would of fit in perfect.”

Another added: “We were robbed of seeing ‘the meeting of the 2 brain cells’ scene. Hopefully make it in the next crossover.”

One more wrote: “Why did they cut this out it’s so good?”

On Monday evening, Corriedale was rocked by a series of shocking events, including a double murder, a devastating diagnosis, and an unexpected comeback.
