As King Charles reportedly prepares to make a trip to the US, setting foot on American soil will “inevitably raise questions” about whether the King will see his son, Prince Harry, who lives in Montecito, California. It has been reported that the King’s visit to the US is likely to take place in April.

Richard Kay, editor at large at the Daily Mail, writes: “Setting foot on American soil will inevitably raise questions about whether he will see his wayward son, Prince Harry and his children, whom he has met only once before. He last saw his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, during the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.”A PR source told the outlet: “‘Extending an invitation to meet his father will almost certainly be a media event. But so too will any failure to invite him. It will be a story if Harry is there, and it will be a story if he isn’t. It’s quite a dilemma.”

Buckingham Palace confirmed that the King had a private tea with his son, the Duke of Sussex, during a visit to the royal residence that lasted about 50 minutes in September The visit to America by the King would be the first by a reigning British monarch since Queen Elizabeth II accepted an invitation from George W Bush in 2007.

Prince Harry’s friends ‘confused’ over children’s futures after shock announcement

Prince Harry already appears to be planning a public life for his two children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, leaving friends “bemused”, it has been reported. Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, last year, announced they would be making changes to their foundation in a new statement.

The couple issued the following release: “After five beautiful years, the Archewell Foundation is becoming Archewell Philanthropies,’ the statement said. “This charitable entity allows the couple and their children to expand upon their global philanthropic endeavours as a family.” The statement was the first time the couple had mentioned their children in their future plans.

Prince Harry has repeatedly stated that without security, he is unable to bring his wife, Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to the UK. A security review is currently being conducted by the UK Home Office, which will finally address his concerns about his protection in the UK.

If the decision reached is finally what he hoped for, Harry’s visit with his two children is closer than ever. It comes after the Duke wrote privately to the Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, requesting a full security risk assessment, according to The Guardian.
