Loose Women’s warm-up act Lee Peart was recently axed amid ITV’s schedule changes

A Loose Women star has revealed their exciting new role after being axed from the ITV show.

Earlier this year, ITV unveiled significant changes to its daytime line-up, with Loose Women, Lorraine, This Morning, and Good Morning Britain all impacted by the shake-up.

From January 2026, the programmes will relocate to a new central London base and operate under a revised broadcasting schedule. The overhaul will see Loose Women return to its former 12.30pm to 1.30pm time slot on a 30-week “seasonal basis”.

The show will also be dropping its live studio audience, which means that comedian Lee Peart will no longer continue as the warm-up act – a position he has held since 2017.

The entertainer announced his exit in a poignant social media message last week, sharing a photograph of himself alongside panellists Ruth Langsford, Gloria Hunniford and Kéllé Bryan.

“Two weeks today will be my final Loose Women! A bittersweet end of an era… the goodbyes are starting as it’s the last time I’ll work with Ruth, Gloria and Kelle in his capacity!” the caption read.

Now, Lee has unveiled a new role since his ITV axing, with the comedian hosting a new wine podcast alongside his close friend and Celebrity Traitors winner Alan Carr.

Each episode of Bottoms Up! blends entertaining chat, gossip and chaos with wine insights, tackling questions on how best to drink rosé or how to handle a disappointing bottle at the table.

The synopsis adds: “The show mixes real wine wisdom with signature humour, stories from the duo’s tour mishaps, and guidance from wine experts, winemakers, and celebrity guests.”

Lee and Alan spoke about their exciting new venture on Friday’s (December 19) episode of Lorraine.

“If you go to a fancy restaurant, you have no qualms saying to the waiter, ‘Oh, what’s this dish?’ But with the wines, you feel a bit intimidated. We’re trying to demystify it for people,” Lee explained to host Lorraine Kelly.

Alan added: “[We have] experts coming on, just giving you advice and stuff, because sometimes it’s overwhelming when you’re buying wine and everything. And also, there’s little bargains there.”

On how the idea came about, Lee went on: “[Alan] is a comedy hero of mine. We went to Cape Town together and that’s how this [podcast] was born.”

Alan shared: “We did wine tasting there. I don’t like a chardonnay and we had a chardonnay, and we had a bit of melon. Honestly, my mouth exploded. It can affect all your taste buds, and I thought, ‘This should be made into a podcast’. That’s why it’s interactive as well, so we tell you what wines to get and [you can] have a drink with Alan and Lee.”
