THE Great British Bake Off has revealed a major twist to the new series – and YOU can be part of it.
The Channel 4 baking show will be back for its seventeenth outing later this year, with casting for the batch of bakers under way.

But now the public can also play a part in the show, as bosses are introducing an ‘Audience Choice’ Week.
The judges – Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith – would like the ideas for the challenges to come from the fans themselves.
So whether you’ve got a sensational idea for a savoury signature, are angling for an apple pie technical or have a brilliant bake for a showstopper, the show wants to hear from you.
But get in there quick, as the deadline for submissions is Sunday, January 18.
Paul, 59, said: “For the first time ever, Prue and I are going to be sharing the reins for this audience choice week.
“We want to give our brilliant viewers the chance to help shape the show, and see their ideas come to life in the tent.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing what great ideas come through.
“People often come up to me in the street with challenges they wish they could see on the show, well now is the perfect opportunity!”
Prue, 85, added: “I’m really looking forward to Bake Off’s very first Audience Choice Week, giving the show’s fans the opportunity to have their say about what bakes they’d like to see in the tent next year.”
Series 16 of Bake Off finished in November and was won by student Jasmine Mitchell.
She had gone head to head with Aaron – who had been the show favourite – and Tom, who had two Hollywood handshakes, to snatch the victory.
She won the champions glass cake stand, but had to keep it secret until the final aired.
She said: “The trophy has been in the bottom of my pyjama drawer hidden at the back amongst the sports clothes.
“I will probably use it straight away and christen it by making a cake!”
