Penny Lancaster has shared the poignant reason this Christmas will be her most cherished yet. The 54-year-old former model is due to celebrate the big day with her husband, rocker Sir Rod Stewart, 80, and his grandchildren, as his children from America are staying with them in Essex.

It means Penny will be putting what she calls her “Grandma” hat on while tucking into a roast dinner and unwrapping festive presents. She told Hello! Magazine: “I’m very, very excited because Grandma is coming into play here. We have two of Rod’s older children from America coming over to spend the whole Christmas with us, with their little ones. So we’ve got two two-year-olds and a nine-month-old, and I cannot wait.”

Rod has eight children in total, two of whom he shares with Penny: Alastair, 20, and Aiden, 14. His other children from previous relationships are Sarah, 62; Kimberly, 46; Ruby, 38; Renee, 33; Sean, 45; and Liam, 31.

The Maggie May singer has four grandchildren who were born in the past few years. There’s Delilah, Kimberly’s daughter, and Otis, Ruby’s baby son. He’s also a grandparent to Liam’s son, Louis, and daughter, Elsie Skylar, who was named after Rod’s mother.

A source told Closer: “There was a time that Rod worried he’d never become a grandfather, so he feels incredibly lucky to be so blessed.”

It’s not just Christmas which looks to be a busy one for Penny and Rod. Next year, the paperback version of Penny’s hit book, Someone Like Me, hits the shelves in time for Mother’s Day.

Meanwhile, Rod is set to embark on his 2026 tour across North America and Europe, where he will perform all his classics to his loyal fans who have supported him for decades. It comes following a hectic 2025, with Rod heading up the Legend’s Slot at Glastonbury this summer, which received stellar reviews.

Penny added: “My husband’s already booked up with all of his tour, and I’m just excited to see what’s around the corner because at the end of the day, as much as we like to plan ahead, I love the spontaneity.”
