Jessica Tarlov has once again slammed Jesse Watters
Jessica Tarlov once again slammed her fellow co-host of Fox News’ The Five, Jesse Watters, this week in regards to his hypocrisy surrounding the recent deadly Texas flash floods.

Tarlov slammed Watters for not holding President D0nald Tump accountable for the ongoing tragedy as he did former President Joe Biden during Hurricane Helene last year.

Authorities have confirmed that the flash flood disaster has claimed at least 119 lives across six counties, including 59 adults and 36 children in Kerr County. Among the victims were 27 campers and counselors from Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp along the banks of the Guadalupe River. More than 173 people are missing. However, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said, “We will not stop until every missing person is accounted for.”

As the public has begun to question the effectiveness of current warning systems and whether more could have been done in advance to prevent the death toll, Watters remained silent about how cuts made by the advisory Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have adversely impacted the nation’s warning systems.

Helene was the deadliest hurricane to strike the mainland U.S. since Katrina in 2005, with about half of the victims living in North Carolina, and many others in Georgia and South Carolina.

Despite the threat, Tump lied about the federal response to Helene, relaying a circulating rumor that victims would receive only $750 from FEMA. This amount actually referred to immediate assistance. However, Fox News hardly complained as Tump lied, Tarlov quickly reminded Watters.

She said the Texas flooding was “one of the more devastating stories” that she and her co-hosts have had to cover. As a mother of two daughters who are going to go to camp eventually, she “cannot even imagine what that feels like”.

“I’ve been reading the testimonials, especially about the fathers and grandfathers that are walking around that camp looking for a thermos with their kid’s name on it or some sign that they were there,” the co-host added.

“Maybe they find the body of another camper, maybe they find their own child or grandchild. Unimaginable. I’m so sorry for them and I’m sorry for any hurt that any comments about this tragedy has caused these families.

“I don’t think that talking about preparedness or what might have helped qualifies as impugning the memory of those that have been lost, or detracting from the thoughtful conversation that needs to take place, because this river has been flooding for a very long time.”

“There are a number of instances in this and we were here around the table when Hurricane Helene struck and I did not hear Jesse Watters, who I’m thrilled is back around the table, saying that D0nald Tump should stop spreading lies about the Biden administration and the FEMA funds.” Watters simply smiled at his co-host as she name dropped him.

Tarlov continued to say that Tump said, “They’re giving your FEMA dollars to illegals. They’re housing them with your FEMA dollars.” She added, “Then he said you’re only gonna get $750 from FEMA, which was a complete lie, and there are Republican officials who have testified to the fact that people did not get their FEMA assistance because of what Tump and other Republicans were saying.”

The Five co-host concluded, “There are over $54 billion in identified needs in terms of disaster resistance when it comes to these kinds of flash floods that state officials are asking for, and the GOP legislature has rejected them. That is something that they can work on to move forward and hopefully avoid a tragedy like this again.”

A few people X agreed with Tarlov in regards to her statements against Watters, with one saying, “That’s because it was Tump. This is the MAGA double standard on full display.”

Another added, “Jessica: We were here around the table when hurricane Helene struck. I did not hear Jesse Watters saying that D0nald Tump should stop spreading lies about the Biden administration and the FEMA funds.”

A third slammed, “Thank you Jessica. The hypocrisy of some of your colleagues is astounding. Especially Waters,” as a fourth agreed, “The hypocrisy of the right is always on point.”

A fifth said, “Jesse Watters of Fox News is all about Lies and Propaganda!!!! We all know that,” as yet another bashed, “Very calm, considered response from @JessicaTarlov that makes total sense. It’s ok to discuss what’s happened and how it could be prevented in future without it becoming a political football.”
