Trisha joked about the unusual way she bid farewell to 2025 – “by having a brain scan” – but explained MRI and CAT scans were a regular part of her current life and ongoing cancer treatment.

“Thank heavens, I got my results about an hour after my scan via a special app on my phone because I can’t imagine having to go into the New Year full of angst waiting for them…,” read her caption.

“And my heart goes out to all of you who are currently having to go through that.”

Alongside the caption, Trisha posted a montage of photos and videos of her at hospital, including a screenshot of the test results and finally dancing happily in front of her Christmas tree.

The scan screenshot confirmed the good news that there was “no evidence of metastatic disease” on the brain.

“Along with non-stop blood tests, it’s how my Oncology team keeps tabs on all those little f***er cancer cells they’re constantly playing ‘Whack-A-Mole’ with!” she explained in her Instagram post.

“Depending on results, my treatments and medications are constantly changed to outwit them.”

Trisha said the positive results gave her something to celebrate on New Year’s Eve and thanked all of the medical staff who treated her over the holiday period.

Then she added more information about the kinds of treatment journey she was having.

“I believe passionately in what I call ‘joined up’ and patient centred cancer services,” Trisha wrote.

“When I was in London recently I got together with fellow metastatic breast cancer thriver, Under-Secretary of State for Public Health and Prevention Ashley Dalton to discuss how I can get involved with the upcoming Cancer Plan… What a woman!”

Over Christmas, Trisha shared another joyous video to celebrate her 68th birthday.

The veteran broadcaster appeared full of beans in the video, which she captioned: “If dem ask me how me feel turning 68 today & living with metastatic breast cancer.”

As well as secondary breast cancer, Trisha is also living with Raynaud’s syndrome, a condition that restricts blood flow to the fingers and toes.

Despite her health challenges, Trisha was in celebratory spirits as she looked ahead to the festive amenities.

In the clip, she smiled, danced and proudly declared: “I made it!”

Reflecting on her diagnosis, she said: “When you first hear those words,

“‘Your cancer has come back’ and every time you look at the news, your eye seems to be drawn to the words CANCER and TERMINAL, you think that’s it.”

She went on to explain how perspectives on the illness have shifted.

She said: “But scientists and the Medical world have re-classified metastatic cancer to being a LIFE LIMITING illness, for good reason,” adding that advancements in treatments and research has changed attitudes.

In 2025, Trisha became the first person with terminal cancer to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Trisha revealed how she managed to cope in the famous house whilst battling her condition.

Trisha underwent a round of chemotherapy and flew to the UK from her home in Connecticut just 24 hours later to move into the CBB house.

Trisha then underwent an ultrasound scan upon touching down in England to ensure she was well and to check that she had not developed a deep vein thrombosis.

In order to make her stay in CBB comfortable, Trisha was afforded a number of luxuries.
