Music legend Ozzy Osbourne died this morning at the age of 76, his family revealed.

It comes days after Black Sabbath’s farewell performance, Back to the Beginning. Ozzy, Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, and Geezer Butler reunited for the first time in two decades to perform some of their biggest hits on July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, England.

His family confirmed he died following a battle with Parkinson’s disease, which he was diagnosed with back in 2019. He leaves behind his wife Sharon, and children Aimee, Jack, Kelly and Louis.

Ozzy’s account on X posted Tuesday: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”

Tributes began pouring in from fans of the Prince of Darkness. Many responded to the announcement expressing their grief.

“We love you Ozzy,” one user wrote. Another commented: “RIP Prince Of Darkness, You was an absolute legend.”

A third shared: “I’m going to miss this one so much. He was such a legend and a great performer, and his music took me through so much. Keep flying high, Ozzy.”

The Parkinson’s Foundation stated: “We’re sending our deepest condolences to Ozzy’s loved ones. Our team will continue to fight for the Parkinson’s community.”

The remaining members of Black Sabbath paid a simple yet powerful tribute to Ozzy, stating: “Ozzy Forever.”

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Rod Stewart bid farewell to his friend, writing, “Bye, bye Ozzy. Sleep well, my friend. I’ll see you up there – later rather than sooner.”

Yungblud expressed his sorrow over Ozzy’s passing in a poignant statement on X, saying” “I didn’t think you would leave so soon the last time we met you were so full of life and your laugh filled up the room. But as it is written with legends, they seem to know things that we don’t. I will never forget you – you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage. Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own. You asked me once if there was anything you could do for me and as I said then and as I will say now for all of us the music was enough. You took us on your adventure – an adventure that started it all. I am truly heartbroken. You were the greatest of all time.”

Born John Michael Osbourne on December 3, 1948, in Aston, Birmingham, he left school at 15 and held various jobs, including factory work, before joining forces with school friend Geezer Butler in several bands.
