Good Morning Britain issued a bombshell Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor update as Richard Madeley and Ranvir Singh spoke to Andrew Lownie, the biographer who wrote a book on former Prince Andrew. Andrew, who had his royal titles revoked after facing intense scrutiny over his friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, has been mentioned in the Epstein files. One particular mention saw him draped over the laps of several unknown women, which could spark more problems for the disgraced Andrew.
Lownie said: “This is only the tip of the iceberg. I found a lot of material that I’m going to put in the updated book, a lot of material that, for legal reasons, I couldn’t use. The royals have tried to cut him loose, because clearly wider questions now about royal privilege and accountability being asked, which they don’t like.”

“But I do think the optics of having both daughters at Sandringham were not good. I think you know that this only just raised the question again, and the daughters, I’m afraid, are, have been involved with some of these activities, and that material will come out.”
Ranvir asked: “We know that Prince William has been sort of really firing up this idea that he does not want his accession to the throne to have this cloud hanging over it. Do you think that the further release of these Epstein files, and you say there’s much more to come out? How much pressure do you think Prince William is under right now?
Lownie replied: “I think Prince William recognises the problem. There’s a huge reputational damage to the monarchy, and I think he is pushing for something to be done.
Ranvir continued: “And it’s interesting that we know something to be done is such a broad phrase, isn’t it? Is that something to be done, send him away so that we don’t see him out of sight, out of mind, or is it something to be done? Is that Andrew must face justice, the FBI should extradite him, and he should face some serious questioning under oath?”
Lownie responded: “Yes, I mean in public, the royal family are doing all the things that they think they can do, but the fact is, behind the scenes, Andrew is still being protected.
“People have not been open about what they knew when they knew, and why they haven’t done anything for years,” as he added that he thought Andrew may be extradited by the US, saying that the problem “isn’t going to go away”.
GMB airs weekdays at 6am on ITV1.
