The radio presenter admitted that she was ‘scared’.

BBC radio star Adele Roberts has shared that she has suffered a prolapse. Taking to Instagram, the 46-year-old star shared a health update with fans as she described how her “small intestines come right out of her body”.

The presenter has a stoma bag following a battle with colon cancer, but admitted that it has caused her some issues. Sharing a snap of the medical device she explained that she had suffered another prolapse. Adele shared that she was “so scared” as she tried to deal with it alone, not wanting to wake up her partner, Kate. She added: “Took me ages to massage it back in. Feeling a bit sore today, too. Not sure what caused it. Googled it and it might be stress.” Adele then opened up on how it is the second anniversary of her mum’s death this week as she emotionally stated: “I think it’s affecting me more than I realise. Audrey (my stoma) is always my tell. When she acts up, I know deep down that there’s a problem. Grief is a tough one. Thinking of you if you are missing loved ones too.”

Adele heartbreakingly continued: “I’m going to make a conscious effort this year to strengthen my tummy muscles and work on my body. Even though I love running, I know I have a lot of work to do on my body.

“I avoid the gym because I think that deep down I feel self-conscious. I feel unworthy and a fraud. I’m still the old, overweight, out-of-shape me inside. Looking forward to challenging those beliefs and levelling up.”

Adele was first diagnosed with bowel cancer in October 2021 and documented her treatment on social media, which included colostomy surgery to remove a bowel tumour and having a stoma bag fitted.

The star previously explained that the fitting of her stoma happened “very quickly” and was surprised to wake up after surgery with one attached.

She said: “They didn’t know how big the tumour was, so it was a little surprise. They said it could happen, but I wasn’t sure. So when I woke up from the surgery, looked under the covers and saw that I had a stoma…”

The radio host detailed her relief with having her cancer removed and how she now believes she’s been a “second chance at life.”
