Susanna Reid was flooded with messages of support as she shared a heartwarming tribute. The Good Morning Britain presenter, 55, reacted to her colleague, who marked his exit as the “end of an era”. Journalist Richard Gaisford had announced his plans to leave the network in October, and he marked his final broadcast outside of Westminister on Wednesday.

The GMB presenter reacted to Richard’s farewell message, which he captioned: “That’s it. Era ended @GMB.” In the candid video, he began: “Well, that is it. My last ever Good Morning Britain broadcast after nearly 26 years. It has been the best job in television news. It’s been a massive privilege and I’m going to miss it incredibly.”

The broadcaster went on to thank the “incredible GMB team” as he signed off for the last time.

Susanna reposted the message on her X account as she penned an emotional message.

She said: “Thank you @richardgaisford for your authoritative reporting in the UK, and your fearless journalism from around the world. One of the very best in the business.”

Her 860,000 followers rushed to comment on the post with Richard being the first to reply.

He commented: “Thank you Susanna. That’s so kind. It’s been wonderful working with you for the last 11 years. Thanks for everything you’ve done to support me and the programme. Wishing you a peaceful Christmas. R x.”

An ITV viewer penned: “Definitely miss this guy good luck with everything.”

A second echoed: “Great reporter and a true gentleman always polite will be truly missed.”

A third added: “There are some journalists one immediately sits up and takes notice of what they are reporting. Thank you Richard for those moments on GMB. I agree with Suzanna. One of the very best in the business. Happy Christmas to you both. And thank you for what you both do.”
