GB News was brought to a screeching halt for a major breaking news announcement as the Channel Tunnel disruptions continue to cause chaos over the festive period. On Tuesday (January 30), at least a dozen Eurostar services between the UK, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands were cancelled, leaving passengers stranded and their holidays disrupted. Earlier, Eurostar announced that services to and from London were suspended until further notice due to overhead power supply issues in the Channel Tunnel, following a failed Le Shuttle train.

After the news broke, GB News presenter Will Godley interrupted the afternoon show to reveal an incredible act of kindness live on the air. Standing outside St Pancras station, the broadcaster revealed that one generous viewer has paid for the flights of a family stranded in the capital due to the Eurostar cancellations, allowing them to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

He began the story by explaining that the Cook family had found themselves caught short on the well-deserved holiday when the cancellations struck. Godley explained: “Bobby and Kim, from the Cook family, unfortunately had all of this happen on their 25th wedding anniversary.”

It was at this point that he shared the interview he did with the lovely couple and their children, where the doting dad explained: “We planned a nice dinner and some time in Paris. There are no flights, there are no transportation options, so we’re having a real challenge getting out of the city.”

Since then, the broadcaster revealed that their New Year’s nightmare might have changed to a Christmas miracle, revealing: “An incredibly kind viewer reached out to us at GB News who offered to pay for their flights in order for them to make Paris and celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary there.

“And I can tell you the good news that they’ve actually been able to book flights from London to Paris, leaving a little bit later on this evening, and Bobby has told me they are on their way to the airport now with his family.

“And they’re incredibly grateful to the very generous GB News viewer who has offered to pay for these flights, saying he wouldn’t have been able to do that without them.”

He added: “The viewer told me that the reason they wanted to do that was because they couldn’t stand to see the family stranded in London, especially on their 25th wedding anniversary.”

It didn’t take long before viewers flocked to the comments to share their surprise at the generous offer online, with one user penning: “Wow. Very generous,” as another agreed: “Such a lovely thing to do at this time of year.”
