Strictly Come Dancing’s Amber Davies issues defiant statement days before final

Amber Davies has shared a ‘very important message’ with her fans after facing a backlash over her previous dance experience

Amber Davies has issued a message to trolls ahead of the Strictly Come Dancing final.

The former Love Island contestant has made it to the last stage of the BBC ballroom show with her pro partner Nikita Kuzmin. They will face football star Karen Carney and her partner Carlos Gu and YouTuber George Clarke with his dance partner Alexis Warr this weekend.

However, the TV star – who was drafted into the competition at the last minute to replace injured Dani Dyer – has faced a barrage of trolling from critics, with some complaining about her background in dance and suggesting she has an advantage on the dancefloor.

She has now posted a defiant message on her Instagram Story, telling fans that “being your own cheerleader is the kindest thing you can do to yourself”.

Sharing a snap of her on the show, Amber wrote: “To the younger women of our future, being ambitious does not mean you’re arrogant, loving yourself does not mean you’re stuck up.

“Being your own cheerleader is the kindest thing you can do to yourself, talk to yourself the way you would your best friend. Confidence does not mean you’re TOO MUCH.”

He said on the BBC show: “I think sometimes, and I speak to the audience at home, just please be kind because it costs nothing and you (Amber) don’t deserve none of it. You only deserve love because without you I wouldn’t be here, and the show wouldn’t be as good as it is.”

The 2025 finalists were confirmed after EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal and her pro dance partner Julian Caillon were eliminated from the BBC competition.

They had previously ended up in the bottom two many times and survived several dance-offs but their time on Strictly came to an end at the weekend.
