Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury shared a worrying health update as she shared a video from a clinic bed. She recorded herself getting an IV drip as she told fans she is “under the weather”. This comes as Julia, 55, has been sharing updates on her health with her fans following her cancer battle. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021 and underwent a mastectomy. She said: “I’m feeling a little bit under the weather. I’ve just got so much on at the moment. I’m doing press for my new Antarctica series.
“I just seem to just not be able to get my to-do list done. So I’m here at the Human Clinic where I’m actually doing some other work and I’ve got to do this little room to have a little IV drip. So this is high dose vitamin C with B complex. Great for immune function, good for inflammation, good for the skin and just good for people like me when you’re feeling a bit… I’m going to go home, I’m going to cover my children, I’m going to have dinner with my children, early dinner, I’m going to go for a walk with the dog and then I’m going to go to bed and have a big, long sleep.
She added a lengthy caption, penning: “Tired doesn’t mean you are failing. It means you are human. Did you know that burnout is now officially recognised as a syndrome linked to chronic work stress, defined by energy depletion, cynicism and reduced performance (not by “being weak” or “too emotional”).
“Rest and recovery are part of how your brain consolidates memories, regulates emotions and restores decision-making, which is why trying to out-hustle exhaustion eventually backfires.
She shared details about her IV drip treatment as she continued: “It’s taken me a long time to learn how to step out of survival mode… Before I used to push through all the fatigue and just keep going. But it’s not all about endurance, it’s about sustainability and health span. Knowing when to press pause is powerful.”
It comes after she told MailOnline in an emotional end of life confession: “The sky was pink in the Antarctic summer, there were icebergs on the horizon and a solitary humpback whale, idling about and blowing spouts.
“I was sitting there thinking, ‘When I’m old, this is something I want to tell my grandchildren about…’ and that made me realise that I was living my second life, the one after cancer, to the full.”
