GB News presenter Eamonn Holmes slammed the capital and declared Londoners unfriendly while speaking on his breakfast show on the news channel.  Despite living and working in the capital he said: “I’ve lived in Manchester, and I’ve lived in Newcastle and lovely Belfast –  the best place in the world – and the people are all very friendly. People talk easily. It’s not the same in London,” he lamented.”So many people just don’t talk to you.”

Citing an example, he said: “This morning, I was waiting for the lift downstairs, press the button, the door opened, and there was a guy standing there. And I said, that was great timing, wasn’t it? That was good. And he looked at me like, ‘What are you talking to me for’ sort of thing. And I said, ‘Oh, what were you doing today. New Year’s Eve. Whatever?’ Didn’t answer me. Walked away,” he recalled. “[Maybe] he spoke a different language, or, I don’t know [wasn’t] that friendly,” he said.

Assuring co-host Dawn Neesom he was talking from experience, he said: “I speak for 40 years of living here, and they [Londoners] do not speak to you the way people in the other parts of the country do.”

This latest rant from Eamonn comes after he scathingly described the TV industry as “pathetic and woke” earlier in December.

The GB News presenter said TV hosts secretly don’t get along. Eamonn, who previously fronted This Morning with ex-wife Ruth Langsford, shared his opinions on mainstream TV while appearing on the Founder Family Collective podcast, hosted by his son, Declan.

The broadcaster began: “Where television is today and the wokism that comes with it, it’s just pathetic. We just get a whole raft of presenters.”

He then imitated other presenters. “‘Lovely to see you, we love each other – which of course we don’t in real life,’ but that’s the way it goes,” he added.

Eamonn is back on screens after taking some time away from the screens over the festive period to treat his girlfriend, Katie Alexander, to a romantic Christmas getaway.

The couple enjoyed a £270-a-night stay at a holiday cottage in Yorkshire. According to an eyewitness via The Sun, the duo were spotted arriving at Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, on Boxing Day.

The 43-year-old marriage counsellor could be seen helping the broadcaster, who suffers from chronic back pain, out of the car before they made their way inside.
