Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell is currently expecting her first child with boyfriend Joe Sugg, and has been sharing updates on her pregnancy

Strictly Come Dancing’s Dianne Buswell appeared to be feeling emotional as she prepares for the birth of her first child, whilst being far from her family in Australia.

The Strictly professional and her partner Joe Sugg announced in September that they are expecting their first child together, seven years after they first met on the popular dance show.

To share the thrilling news, they uploaded a video of them standing behind a wooden easel with paint and brushes.

In the delightful clip, set to Elton John’s Tiny Dancer, the couple can be seen painting before turning the canvas to reveal three stick figures – symbolising Dianne, Joe and a smaller figure between them representing their unborn baby.

Alongside the post, initially shared by Joe and later reposted by Dianne, he penned: “Our little baby boy [heart emoji]. We cannot wait to meet you.”, according to the Manchester Evening News, reports Wales Online.

This happy announcement comes after their stint on the BBC One dance competition in 2018, where they made it to the final but were pipped to the Glitterball trophy by eventual champions Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton – who also sparked a romance following the show and have since welcomed their daughter, Minnie, into the world.

Since sharing her pregnancy, Dianne has offered numerous updates on her journey, having returned to Strictly as a professional dancer, where she was taking part in the 2025 series paired with Neighbours legend Stefan Dennis before he was compelled to withdraw due to injury.

In a post ahead of her forthcoming live performance with the actor earlier this month, Dianne shared a heartfelt message on Instagram after receiving a photograph of her father, Mark, with two of his grandchildren.

Writing to her Instagram Story, the professional dancer, who has made history as the first to compete on Strictly whilst pregnant, wrote: “Oh I just love and miss you all. Can’t wait for my dad to sit and watch telly with our little boy [string of face holding back tears emojis].”

Dianne also made an appearance on BBC’s The One Show, where she told hosts Alex Jones and Vernon Kay she’s absolutely relishing every moment of dancing during her pregnancy.

Dianne, who featured on the programme alongside Stefan, said: “There is three of us dancing! It’s really exciting and it’s very cool. When I’m out there, I often think, ‘I’ve got a little buddy just dancing along with us!’”.

“It’s really cool, it’s a magical experience,” she continued, before receiving heartwarming wishes from fellow One Show guests, Hollywood stars Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst.

The news comes after Joe disclosed in his recent YouTube vlog that he had felt their baby boy’s movements for the first time.

Speaking with Dianne, he said: “I’m wide awake because today was the first day, this is a monumental day, because you’re into the next week of Strictly but this morning was the first time ever that I felt little man kick. He’s properly kicking.”

Dianne added: “His reflexes are going strong! He’s giving me little butterflies in my tummy.”

Joe said: “He’s been kicking all morning,” as he lovingly looked at his partner’s expanding baby bump.
