The update on the ITV show was absolutely heartbreaking.

A Good Morning Britain presenter made a devastating announcement on Friday morning. Regular presenters Kate Garraway and Ranvir Singh passed a report about hospital care over to correspondent Jonathan Swain, who delivered a tragic update.
He shared how people have been getting treated in corridors of hospitals, as he shared footage filmed by patients to show what it is “really like”. The reporter said: “Two weeks ago, we introduced you to Tommy. He spent his 60th birthday on a hospital corridor.” The ITV show then cut to a clip of Tommy in a hospital bed, as he explained that it was “mental cruelty”. “I wouldn’t like anyone to go through this,” he added. “I wouldn’t like my worst enemy to go through this because it’s not human and it is not right.” Back in the ITV studio, Jonathan told the audience: “Sadly, Tommy’s family have told us that they are devastated because he has now died.”

He added: “Not a result of his care at the hospital. But they wanted to share his experience of what he went through.”
The Department of Health admitted to ITV that treating people in corridors is “undignified” but also wanted to highlight the extra funding that has been put into the NHS this winter “to try to ease some of the pressure”.
Jonathan continued: “But, as we have seen, this is a system that is under pressure and according to statistics, lives are sadly being lost.”
Friday’s show also brought a large number of complaints from fans. Viewers took to social media just minutes after the programme started to complain that it was “too loud”, making it “unwatchable”.
Taking to X/Twitter, one viewer fumed: “I’ve had to turn GMB off, the noise from those presenting is hurting and irritating, turn them down.”
And another echoed: “#gmb Good timing. That’s it for today, seen the Lovely Laura quickly, no time for the rest of the presenters. How are they on prime time TV?
“It sounds like Kwasi is around, so we’re off to the BBC before he pops up anyway. We are not interested in a useless chancellor’s opinions on anything.”
