There could be plenty more drama on the way for Emmerdale ‘s Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden, but fans shouldn’t be too worried.

It’s fair to say that the pair have overcome some of the biggest obstacles recently, while they soon gave into their feelings and reunited. Robron, as they are named by loyal fans, have certainly faced tough times, including near-death experiences and psycho partners.

Fans hoping for some happier times in the fallout to their engagement in Corriedale were soon met with the bombshell that Robert’s sister Victoria Sugden had killed their brother John. The villain met his gruesome end after he tried to harm Victoria, having already tried to kill Aaron and Robert.

Aaron and Robert know all about the crime and have been covering it up, united. Of course there’s a new road block in the form of villain Joe Tate, who is now blackmailing the Sugdens. Aaron is unaware of just how far Joe has dragged his soulmate Robert into his sinister plans.

We’re banking on Aaron being furious when he finds out, but according to our soap expert, we shouldn’t be too worried about it’s impact on Robron’s future. They said: “Aaron’s bound to be annoyed and in disbelief, especially if he finds out Robert helped set up Moira Dingle.

“Once he hears the truth though, which is surely inevitable, it’ll likely be Joe feeling his and the Dingles’ wrath, not Robert. If anything, fans will no doubt be hoping this is the moment Robron come together and bring down Joe. Whether that happens though remains to be seen, but it would certainly put a smile on fans’ faces to see arrogant Joe exposed.”

In a chat with The Mirror recently, Danny Miller who plays Aaron teased the pair would have to work together and that there could be consequences. He hinted that something would happen that would result in Robert having to tell Aaron he would “fix things”, with Aaron troubled by what’s happened – so was he teasing the truth about Joe’s blackmail being revealed? Danny’s admission could be the clue that proves they will stay united, back together for good.

Who knows, but with a wedding hopefully on the horizon, it’s time to see some happier times for the couple, and see them finding their feet in their relationship again, like before Robert’s prison stint. With Victoria leaving the show at some point and Moira and Joe twists aplenty set to be rumbled, our insider warns of drama ahead.

But they also shared that we could see Aaron being there for Robert amid his turmoil. They said: “Aaron’s worried for his partner, knowing what he’s been through and that he’s struggled with his mental health since being in prison.

“So when he finds him alone in the field next week, he presumes Robert’s struggling. He’s determined to be there for him. Luckily, he’s got it wrong and Robert has just had some newfound hope that things are on the up.

“Whether this could be the push Robert needs to stop Joe’s evil ways remains to be seen. It’s without a doubt though that they are more united than ever, so whatever it is that comes their way, we’re sure they’ll face it together and do whatever it takes to fix things.”

An upcoming moment sees Robert teaming up with Tracy Robinson when she plots to dump John’s ashes down the toilet. It’s surely not going to go down well with Victoria and Aaron, but let’s face it, they have been through much worse.

Our source said: “Robert finds himself in bad situation after bad situation, he can’t help himself. He’s reluctant to help Tracy in her quest for revenge as he knows it could upset Victoria and Aaron, and it’s not long before he’s facing more questions.” As for Victoria’s vow to hand herself in over John’s death in a bid to expose Joe and help free Moira, our insider teases Robert’s increasing panic over his sister’s future.

They shared: “Robert is desperate to protect his little sister, and he’s already proven he’ll go to whatever lengths he has to. The last thing he wants however is for her to find out what he’s done.
