Alex Scott has hit out at ITV following her appearance on I’m A Celebrity.

The Lioness, 41, was the first famous face to be eliminated from the reality show and has now fumed she was given an unfair edit.

After jetting home from Australia, the sports presenter sat down for a chat on ITV’s Lorraine where she insisted to stand-in host Ranvir Singh that there had been a “fun side” to her that never actually made the final cut.

She said: “It’s me actually being out and learning what’s been aired and what’s been shown. I had so much fun, and that bit wasn’t shown. I had so much fun. I was called the Games Master in there, the stuff that I was doing with everyone. It’s only an hour show so only so much can go into the edit but when I reflect, I wish more of the fun stuff, people had seen that side of me. I wanted them to see the more fun Alex Scott that they didn’t see.”

Alex was then asked who she would like to see crowned King or Queen of the jungle and claimed that both rapper Aitch and Twitch streamer Ginge have had “all the airtime,” so it is likely to be one of them but she would prefer EastEnders star Shona McGarty to walk off with the crown.

She said: “Ginge and Aitch have had all the airtime and everyone has seen them, but my special bond with Shona, I don’t think the public have seen the real journey she’s been, she’s spoken so much about her anxiety and her fun side but I don’t think anyone has seen it. I want her to win but it’s gonna be between the boys, isn’t it?”

It is tradition for celebrities to stay for the wrap party once the show is over and cameras generally capture them for the Coming Out show as the adjust to life in the real world again, but Alex had to jet straight back from Australia due to a family emergency.

The presenter, who is currently in a relationship with Jess Glynne, was not greeted by her significant other at the other end of the bridge when she left camp because the pop star’s mother had a medical emergency.

Providing an update on the situation, Alex told Ranvir: “I came out and saw that Jess wasn’t at the end of the bridge, her mum has suffered a really bad stroke and had to have brain surgery so I had to rush home and be with my Jessica. She’s in critical care at the moment so we’ve been at the hospital every day and straight after here we’re heading straight there.”

Before she even flew to Australia, Jess’s mum had suffered a stroke, and Alex agonised over whether to pull out of the show. In the end, it was Jess who told her she had to go. “It’s been a tough time for us and obviously her family, and it was a tough decision to come into the jungle, but then Jess never wanted me to step away from not doing it,” Alex said.

“I knew there was always a possibility of her not being across the bridge, if her mum hadn’t got better, or if things had been getting worse, which they have been. But it was a big decision for me to not pass this opportunity, and Jess was the one that pushed me to be here.”

Hours after Alex left the jungle, Jess posted on social media as to why she wasn’t there to greet her. In an emotional statement, she told how over the last few weeks her mother had “suffered a major stroke and needed urgent brain surgery.” She added: “It’s been a really serious, life-altering time for my family, and I’ve had to stay close to home. Alex would always want me to be where l’m needed most. I can’t wait to have her back by my side.”

Asked if she considered pulling out of the show, Alex said: “Oh, yeah, absolutely, 100 percent. But Jess was the one that wanted me to do this, so that’s why I wanted to go in and still make her proud.”
