Strictly Come Dancing star Thomas Skinner has shared a post on social media after the news he wouldn’t be returning to the show for the final.

The grand finale live show takes place this Saturday evening, with George Clarke and partner Alexis Warr, Karen Carney and Carlos Gu, and Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin vying for the glitterball trophy.

As keeping with tradition, several of their competitors from this series are returning for special appearances and a group number, including the likes of Vicky Pattison and Alex Kingston.

However, it’s been revealed that former Apprentice star Thomas won’t be returning, despite his partner Amy Dowden taking to the floor just weeks after she underwent a second mastectomy.

“We are gonna be busy down the Lairy Lobster, we have loads of new bits in for Christmas and we are still taking orders for our Christmas platters!!

“We are open today, tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday every day from 9.30 am and then we are also open on the Wednesday (Christmas Eve, we will be shutting at 2pm on the eve of Christmas) because I want a Christmas pint!!

“Thank you for keeping us nice an busy, come down and say hello.”

He concluded: “See you soon, we are in the Christmas spirit. Bosh.”

During his stint on Strictly, which saw him become the first celebrity eliminated, Thomas was embroiled in controversy.

He later confessed he wished he’d never done it due to the “constant abuse” he received.

In a post on X earlier this year, he said: “I’ve had enough of all this b*******.

“I can’t do anything right now without someone criticising me. Or making me do something against my will. It’s bulls***.”

He went on: “I wish I never done Strictly, I never fitted (sic) the bill for that show let’s be honest. And it’s caused me nothing but agg. Constant abuse.”

He claimed that all he tries to do is “spread positivity online” but has had “a narrative spun against me”.

He added: “I went out to work in my van this morning and I’m either getting beeped at or people putting their thumb up at me. I’ve honestly had enough. Now people I’ve supported my whole life are starting to turn on me because they see what’s going on online. It ain’t real life.

“I think I need to take a break and concentrate on me and my family. Because I ain’t one to admit I’m struggling. But I honestly am. I’m honestly tired of all this nonsense.

“Can no one see what’s happening to me, I don’t know why I’ve become this target. I’ve always been the one that’s been solid. But I’ve really really had enough now. Bosh.”
