AngryGinge has taken a swipe at his estranged father for ‘walking out’ on him as his fans rallied around him following his I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! win.
The streaming star was crowned the King of the Jungle on Sunday night’s episode of the ITV reality competition, beating EastEnders‘ Shona McGarty and Celebs Go Dating star Tom Read Wilson in the final.
AngryGinge, 24, real name Morgan Burtwistle, has made no secret of being raised by his single mum Michelle, who joined him in the Jungle during one episode of the hit show.
He had little to say about his estranged dad during his time on the series, having previously told fans via his streaming videos and podcast appearances about his father not being part of his life.
Ginge admitted to his streaming fans that contact was cut long before his online fame began, with his mother instead supporting the family alone after his father, a truck driver, was out of the picture.
Now, he’s sent a swipe in his father’s direction – as his Instagram following rallied around him in the days following his big win on the series.

One follower posted a clip of actor Matthew McConaughey breaking down in tears during a scene of hit film Interstellar, watching his daughter in an old video.
Posting the clip to their stories, the fan wrote: ‘AngryGinge’s dad watching his past self walk out on his son, who would go on to win I’m A Celebrity.’
Sharing the clip to his own stories, Ginge replied: ‘HAHAHAHAHAHAH’, before brushing off the dig by sharing a photo of his steak and chips lunch.
It comes after AngryGinge revealed that he’d gone on the ITV show to ‘make his mother proud’ – admitting he would be losing out on ‘hundreds of thousands of pounds’ by appearing on I’m A Celebrity.
The King of the Jungle lost out on a substantial amount of money by taking a five-week break from his lucrative live-streaming and missing out on Christmas brand deals.
He told the Daily Mail: ‘I remember her [Michelle] saying years ago one of her main aims was that she wanted to go to Australia and I managed to get her a free holiday there.
‘I didn’t do it for publicity. I just did it because I’ve got an opportunity here to live an eight-year-old Morgan’s dream and to make my mum proud.’
Ginge was raised in a single-parent household on a council estate in Salford, as his father was absent and left Michelle to raise her son and daughter, Tasha, on £12,500 a year while she juggled three jobs.

AngryGinge brushed off the dig by sharing a photo of his steak and chips lunch.
Opening up about what the win meant for him personally, he said: ‘I wanted my mum to know how well she did raising us and how much I do appreciate everything that she did from literally.
‘From being a single parent, since I was probably one year old and then on and off and then throughout my whole life basically working all of the jobs that she had just to know that.
‘Anything I can do would make her proud. It’s just the best.’
Meanwhile, a source close to the star said: ‘Ginge has lost hundreds of thousands of pounds coming on to this show, he didn’t do it for him, he did it to make his mum proud.
‘He missed out on all the brand deals on the run up to Christmas and a month of streaming.’
Twitch streamers, and there are millions of them, make money through subscriptions, donations and sponsorship deals, and the more viewers they get, the more money they make.
Ginge was the favourite to win the show having already five million loyal followers under his belt from his lucrative Twitch streaming account – a gaming platform come chat show website.
He was ITV’s Gen Z pull for this year and proved to be a success as the show attracted 2.5 million consolidated viewers, its most since the World Cup in 2022.

The content creator and his mum Michelle delighted TV audiences when she and his sister, Tasha, surprised him in the Jungle
But the social media giant revealed he almost quit the show 10 days in, which would have been a disaster for the channel, when he was seen by viewers crying on a bench by himself.
He said: ‘I was sitting and I was going to myself, “I’ve got the taste. I know the experience now, the 10 days in. I know what it’s like. I’ve got an extra two weeks.” I was debating it, but then I just powered through it and got through it.’
In terms of what is next for the young star, he will return to his home of streaming for some time before making a move into the mainstream next year, according to sources close to him.
But, for now, he said: ‘I haven’t got a clue, can you go higher from here? I don’t know.’
