Jake Paul taken in for unexpected surgery two months after Anthony Joshua KO

Paul has required a second surgery after his brutal KO at the hands of Anthony Joshua.

Jake Paul has revealed he has undergone a second surgery on a broken jaw suffered during his knockout defeat to Anthony Joshua in December.

Paul, 29, suffered a sixth-round knockout against Joshua on December 19 after being dominated throughout the fight.

The defeat was Paul’s first since losing to Tommy Fury via unanimous decision in August 2023, having recorded victories over the likes of Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, Mike Tyson and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr since then.

‘The Problem Child’ was taken to hospital after the bout, where it was subsequently confirmed that he had suffered a double broken jaw as a result of Joshua’s knockout blow.

Paul had titanium plates inserted into his mouth which limited him to consuming liquids for the following seven days.

Over the past two weeks, the American has been in Milan supporting his fiancee, Jutta Leerdam, during her 2026 Winter Olympics programme.

The Dutch speed skater won gold in the women’s 1000 metres competition, before securing a silver medal in the 500m.

Paul was left in floods of tears after Leerdam won her first Olympic gold, adding to the silver she won at Beijing 2022.

Now, Paul has taken to Instagram to announce that, following the pair’s return to the United States, he has undergone a second jaw surgery.

He wrote: “Had to get another jaw surgery. The screws and plates were coming loose because apparently I didn’t rest for the past 2 months whaattttttttt.”

He shared photos of himself sat on a hospital bed, and in a wheelchair with Leerdam assisting him.

Paul then posted two AI videos of a bionic jaw, which was attached to his mouth where his real jaw would be.

He then pulled the bionic mechanism away to show an entirely mechanical mouth.

“Ask how I get millions of views. Pretty wild, right?” he added, before ‘reattaching’ the jaw to restore his real face to the camera.
