After Balvinder and Julian performed their salsa, and Amber and Nikita danced their couple’s choice again, judges Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood – who had the casting vote – all chose to save the former Love Island star. Speaking to host Tess Daly, Balvinder said she has adored “every single minute” of her time on Strictly and paid a heartfelt tribute to her dance partner.

Reminiscing over her time on the show, the actress said: “Everyone’s been brilliant. The minute you walk into this building, it’s like a massive hug. Every single time. I’ve walked in, people have just held me and gone ‘you know, you’re all right’, it’s such a wonderful place to work.”

She then thanked the judges before telling hosts Claudia and Tess, who are set to leave the show at the end of the year: “I’m grateful that I got to be on the show on your last moment here as well, because you, for me, are what Strictly is about. You’re the era of Len Goodman and Bruce Forsyth, and that’s when I started watching it, and that, for me, is really special.

“This year, it’s been full of so many serendipitous moments. I’m so lucky, and I’m really, very happy.” Balvinder also described her dance partner as “brilliant in every sense of the word” and said she had “never felt alone on this floor”, thanks to him. Julian responded: “I just think that Bal embodies what this competition is about.

“Her spirit is unbreakable, and (to Sopal) you have shown me that I’m actually dreaming too small, and Bal can inspire us that whatever any of us want in life, all you have to have is the desire to go after it. It took six dance-offs and a perfect score to take this lady out, so I am so so proud of you.”

Following the news that she has made it through to the final, Amber issued a statement on Instagram. Sharing photos from their couples choice performance, the finalist wrote: “Strictly 2025 finalists. To those who have supported and voted for us from day one, you are the reason we are here and have made it!! 12 live shows, 3 dance offs, 3 40s!!!!

She continued: “It’s not about winning for me, it never EVER has been, it’s always been about making the most of this incredible opportunity that was gifted to me so last minute. And now I will whole heartedly cherish every single second of this last week with my partner in crime, one last week of pushing, laughing, learning, growing & of course knowing me lots of crying. I feel an overwhelming emotion of gratitude to you @bbcstrictly the greatest team in the world. Let’s go DANCE OUR HEARTS OUT FOR US @nikita__kuzmin TEAM BLOMMING CHAOS MADE IT TO THE END.”
