A Place In The Sun presenter Jasmine Harman paid a heartfelt tribute to a beloved friend, whom she simply referred to as SD. The Channel 4 host was inundated with messages of support after a sad announcement. In a candid message shared on Instagram on Saturday, the mum-of-two said goodbye to “another soul lost to cancer”.

In a tearful tribute, Jasmine, 50, shared a photo of tree on a green pathway as she offered some kind words following the loss. She explained her treasured friend had died after a battle with cancer.

She wrote: “Today, we bid farewell to a friend. Another beautiful soul lost to cancer. Leaving behind a wonderful, loving family. A beloved wife and five very special children. Friends. Relatives. Colleagues. Cherished memories which will be treasured forever. RIP SD.”

Jasmine signed off, “You have left an enormous hole in the hearts of those who love you. As only someone with such a huge personality could.”

The presenter added the hashtags “#gonebutneverforgotten #lifeisshort #playmore.”

Jasmine’s 258,000 Instagram followers rushed to the comment section to offer their condolences, as one penned: “Sending you so much love and strength lovely lady. Thoughts are with you and with the family.”

Another remarked: “So sorry and love & blessings to you & her family.”

“So very sorry to hear this Jasmine. Thoughts are with you and your dearest friends and family,” a third added.

The sad announcement comes just two years after the loss of Jasmine’s friend and colleague Jonnie Irwin, who was best known for his expertise on Channel 4 show, A Place In The Sun and the BBC’s Escape to the Country.

The presenter died in February 2024 after a battle with brain cancer and is survived by his wife and children.

Jonnie was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2020 after the disease had spread from his lungs to his brain.
