Fans were outraged as Laura welcomed the former PM onto the BBC show, after a previous blunder.

Fans of Laura Kuenssberg “switched off” as they fumed over the guest lineup for her Sunday BBC show. She was joined by Bridget Phillipson, Laura Trott, Admiral Sir Tony Radakin and former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
However, fans were fuming over the latter guest, as Laura hoped to gain the Conservative politician’s thoughts on the likes of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor being arrested. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one viewer raged: “Why is #bbclaurak bothering to interview useless Boris Johnson? Nobody gives a flying f*** what that buffoon thinks about anything! What next? Liz Truss giving her views about the siege of Troy! I’m off, BBC.” Another echoed: “#bbclaurak Why on earth are you giving air time to the discredited Boris Johnson – I have zero interest in what he has to say to the world.”

One more fumed: “The absolute state of Spaffer Johnson. The last time Kuenssberg scheduled an interview with him, she had to cancel it as she’d emailed the questions in advance. No doubt she’ll have done the same this time. #bbcbreakfast #bbclaurak.”
As another angrily penned: “Who’s BRIGHT IDEA was it to wheel BLAGGARD BORIS JOHNSON to be interviewed by Laura Kuenssberg FAN GIRL of his ??? #bbclaurak @bbclaurak. We all should be absolutely LIVID if the BBC are paying him for his POPPYCOCK and SILLINESS from our LICENCE FEES.”
Laura was previously left “embarrassed” as she made a momentous error. Back in 2024, the presenter was forced to cancel an interview with Johnson after she accidentally sent the former prime minister her briefing notes.

She described it as “embarrassing and disappointing”, but said “red faces aside, honesty is the best policy”.
At the time, Laura wrote on X: “While prepping to interview Boris Johnson tomorrow, by mistake I sent our briefing notes to him in a message meant for my team. That obviously means it’s not right for the interview to go ahead.”
She continued: “It’s very frustrating, and there’s no point pretending it’s anything other than embarrassing and disappointing, as there are plenty of important questions to be asked. But red faces aside, honesty is the best policy. See you on Sunday.”

The interview was pulled from air completely as the BBC’s former political editor said it was “not right for the interview to go ahead” after sharing notes with him which had been intended for her colleagues.
The BBC said it had agreed with Johnson’s team that cancelling the interview was “the best way forward”.
