The driver who has been charged following the horror car crash involving Anthony Joshua has appeared in court in Nigeria.
Joshua’s personal trainer, Latif Ayodele, and strength coach, Sina Ghami, were killed when their vehicle smashed into a stationary lorry near Lagos on December 29. The former heavyweight champion was rushed to hospital with injuries but survived.
Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, 46, appeared at Sagamu Magistrates Court in Ogun state near Lagos today, with his case being adjourned to March 13. He had already appeared in court on January 20, charged with causing death by dangerous driving and reckless and negligent driving.

Kayode has yet to enter a plea. He was previously released from custody after being granted bail of around £2,600. He also faces charges of driving without due care and driving without a valid driver’s license as he faces the prospect of life in prison. Prosecutors told the court they needed more time to gather all the evidence.
Joshua narrowly escaped death in the collision, making a recovery before being discharged from hospital on New Year’s Eve. The 36-year-old returned to the UK at the start of January and is continuing to complete rehab.
